City, Best Buy) are not
promoting the exclusive
GTA-IV DLC for Xbox 360
whatsoever, says an

The reason is obvious,
why would retailers care
when they will get a zero
cut from it? The question
now is, what will Microsoft
do to make sure the millions
they spent on exclusive
episodic content sways
those who will be choosing
between the PS3 and Xbox

price. The article is based

review of pre-sales for

shipments and other data.
His reveiw has led him to
predict that GTA-IV will sell
5.8 million units in the first
seven days (doubling Halo 3
's record), which will likely
send Take-Two's shares
past the 26 dollar EA bid and put
pressure on them to raise
their bid. *

The first reviews of Grand Theft Auto IV are expected to arrive within the next couple of weeks, and today OPM UK announced that their review will begin reaching subscribers of the magazine around April 22nd. Official Xbox Magazine have already announced that their review will go on sale on April 19th. Meanwhile a number of other reviews are also expected from the likes of IGN and GameSpot at around the same time.
The first ever review of GTA: San Andreas came from the US edition of OPM on October 23rd 2004 (three days before the game was released) and then various other reviews followed shortly after. It was also at this time when the first HUD screens and voice actor info began to emerge, so perhaps we can expect something similar this time. *

The first adverts for GTA-
IV have hit UK publications
and it seems as if the title
will be getting the same
treatment that Assassin's
Creed and Burnout
paradise got on release -
exclusive affiliation with the
Xbox 360. *

GTA-IV needs 3340KB of
space, promises 1080p
support
A UK gamer managed to
snap a picture of the back
of the GTA-IV box. Of note
is that the back says the
game requires a tiny 3340
KB of HDD space and
supports 1080p. The big
question that everyone is
asking is whether it is
native 1080p or upscaled.
Eitherway, we'll all be in for
a visual treat. *

The first GTA IV review was released in official xbox360 magazine giving the game a perfect 10/10. here are 2 pictures from the magazine showing the new HUD.

Giant GTA-IV ads have
been spotted on buildings
in New York. Last week,
GTA-IV adverts were
spotted in UK publications
only promoting the game for
the Xbox 360. However in
these US adverts the
Playstation logo is
displayed. *

GTA-IV to make 400 million dollars in
first week, 360 version to
do slightly better
Variety is reporting that
sources close to publisher
Take-Two Interactive
believe that GTA-IV will
make 400 million dollars in its
first week, a record for
vidgames and possibly the
biggest debut ever for an
entertainment product.
Halo 3 currently holds the
record for the biggest
videogame launch making
300 million in its first week
and selling about 5 million
units. Blockbusters CEO
believes that GTA IV will
sell twice as much as Halo 3
did in its stores. The CEO
also said that based on
pre-orders, they're
expecting the game to be a
little stronger on the 360. *

The Official Playstation
Magazine UK has
unsurprisingly given GTA-IV
a 10/10 in its review. They
say that the game is richer,
deeper and more involving
than its predecessors. Also
OPM seemed to have a bit
of trouble controlling the
helicopters in the game
saying that they couldn't
avoid ploughing into 50
floor skyscr*pers. *

has not received any
shareholder proposals for
consideration at its annual
meeting, which should
please EA. Take-Two is
attempting to fight off EA's
2 billion dollar hostile bid which
expires Friday. *

Rumour: GTA-IV for PS3 will
require mandatory install
The writer of 1up's GTA-IV
preview, has apparently
made a post on Neogaf
forums stating that the PS3
version of the game
requires a 5 minute
mandatory install. Also
there will be optional
sixaxis controls for bikes,
choppers and boats. *

brand new city
According to a 100 percent %
unofficial GTA IV special in a
Future Publishing magazine,
has said that GTA IV is set
to completely redefine the
idea with expansions that
are to GTA IV what Vice City
or San Andreas were GTA
III. Yes, Rockstar is clearly
hinting at new downloadable
cities; and the chances of
them being London, Vice
City or SA again are slim to
none. So that's new as in
brand new. GTA IV's Liberty
City is the beginning. Think
about that and be excited. *

Comedian Ricky Gervais told
a British magazine that he
is to appear as himself in
GTA-IV at Liberty City's
comedy club where we will
hear some new material he
has written just for the
game. Gervais also hinted
that he will appear
elsewhere in the game. In
other GTA-IV news, Xbox
UK Stephen McGill, has said
that we can expect a large
awareness campaign from
us Microsoft, showcasing
how great GTA-IV on Xbox
360 is. He also said that
their campaign is the same
sort of scale as our Halo 3
campaign last year so you
can expect to see and hear
a lot about GTA-IV on Xbox
360 over the coming
weeks. *

German magazine Games
Aktuell is the latest
magazine to review Grand
Theft Auto IV. Here is their
verdict:
Graphics: 9/10
The gigantic size of the city
makes you forget the few
graphical imperfections of
the game.
Sound: 10/10
Best GTA soundtrack ever,
and probably the most
compelling feature in the
game.
Controls: 8/10
Far from perfect but a big
step from the previous GTA
games.
Multiplayer: 9/10
Great concept and
innovative integration with
the single-player mode.
Gameplay: 10/10
We can't score it 11/10...
Conclusion:
GTA-IV is by far the best
action game ever created!
NOTE: This review is
based on earlier preview
sessions at Rockstar games. It's not
based on the final retail
version of the game. It still
contains the review
screenshots however (the
same ones featured in
OXM/OPM). *

MS now looking into those already chalking up GTA IV achievements.
Xbox Live's Major Nelson was recently asked what Microsoft was doing about users who are already getting GTA IV achievements from pirated copies and copies obtained early. All Major Nelson said that he was unable to comment now because there is a need to look into this further. Microsoft and Rockstar themselves have so far declined to comment on the issue. *

Microsoft have said that they are ready for the increased strain GTA-IV will put on Xbox Live when the game launches. They say they are preparing for a spike that could be much larger than what we saw with the launches of Halo 3 and CoD 4. MS say the biggest step that they've is to add more server hardware and that they've actually doubled their capacity for concurrent users on Live over the last 2 months. I'm sure psn will be doing something similar. *
